C.R. Herro leads Meritage’s Business Innovation Program which combines design, efficiency, sustainability, and new technologies to establish a new standard in home building that provide better comfort, healthier air, and cost less to own and operate. In the last seven years, Meritage has set the national standard in energy efficiency and integrated renewable design.
C.R. earned a Bachelors of Science at Arizona State University in Physical and Life Science, Masters in Environmental Science from Governors State, and Doctorate in Environmental Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology. CR has spent 20 years within Fortunate 500 companies driving innovation and the supporting change management. CR is on the RESNet ANSI Standard Development Committee, Board of Directors for the Energy & Environmental Building Alliance, technical committee for the Leading Builders of America, and Ibacos’ best practice research alliance. CR speaks nationally to advance the industry, regulations, and associated stakeholders in adopting credible improvements to the function, performance, and value of new homes.
